The Leeds Middle School consist of new construction of a two-story 74,000 SF school for the City of Leeds Board of Education. The school includes science laboratories, a gymnasium, full-service cafeteria, classroom space and safe rooms for all students.
Challenges present on this project included construction of the new school was constructed adjacent to the operating existing school. Aside from demolition occurring after new construction had taken place, an active security buffer zone was in place during the entire construction period. Additionally, providing normal site access for daily school activities required attention to detail from the construction team to succeed.
